The product, in the report: Aroma Water Kettle Model no AWK-108 black (120V 60Hz 1500W - made in China
This morning our Aroma Kettle exploded with a loud bang. It wasnt in use but my wife place our kid’s lunch bag near it and it may have pressed and held down the button for heating.
It was deafening, very scary and could have injured someone if someone was closer to the kettle as it sent a strange metal looking powder around which might have be hot or dangerous.
The kettle was less than a year old. Model no AWK-108. See photo to get serial number (not clear which number it is).
In all transparency, we did recently (a few weeks ago) also moved the kettle to a different plug inside the kitchen as it was always triggering a safety Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters of a plug with GFCIs. Nothing seemed wrong with the kettle. It worked on other plug in the kitchen. In hindsight, this seems like a very bad idea that we just ignored it was triggering the GFCI but it worked fine for weeks.
Perhaps this safety (interruptor) should really be on the Kettle more than the plug itself.
So we are a bit unsure what caused this. We think it worth putting the word out regarding our safety concern with this product.

The product, in the report: Digital Glass Electric Kettle
Aroma Professional Digital Glass Electric Tea Kettle, Model AWC-155DI. Lid assembly is made from cheap plastic parts that fall apart after a few weeks of regular use. The lid falls when pouring off causing boiling water and/or steam to rush out. I have sustained minor steam burns but feel the potential is there for more serious injuries.

The product, in the report: Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle: An electric water heater with a detachable stainless steel reservoir.
The electric kettle has an automatic shut-off function. However that stopped working after several months. I bought the kettle because I have a tendency to forget about water boiling. As a result twice it has super-heated and boiled itself dry, creating a hazard.

The product, in the report: Electric Water Kettle
Manufacture - Aroma Model Number - AWK-115S Electric Water Kettle
The AWK-115S is supposed to shut off when water reaches boiling. Today it did not shut off and got extremely hot. I did not let it boil the water off to see if it would have caught fire, but I suspect it would have melted down, hopefully tripping a circuit breaker before starting a fire.
