Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 18, 2018, sent to the company Feb 22, 2019, published by CPSC Mar 11, 2019
The product, in the report: Toastmaster digital slow cooker sold by dollar general. stainless with black trim.
We have owned the cooker for 1 year. My wife washed the glass lid and placed it on edge like a dish in the drainer. Later she went back to the drainer to move the lid, and when she picked up the lid by the handle the lid burst sending out thousands of shards. She was blessed to only have a few small cuts, and a mess to clean up in the kitchen. To clarify: the lid had not suffered any sharp blows, it was no sudden change in temperature, and it was no known chips or cracks before the incident. Please, try to get a recall on these things before someone really gets hurt.
