The product, in the report: Ninja Foodi

I was using a Ninja Foodi as a slow cooker to make some sauce and had dribbled some on the front of the unit. As I wiped off on the pot where the lip of the lid sits with a paper towel, I ended up with a metal shaving from the unit that pierced through my finger and nearly out the other side.

The product, in the report: Ninja MC1001 Foodi PossibleCooker PRO 8.5 Quart Multi-Cooker

I cooked a soup recipe with my Ninja FOODI POSSIBLECOOKER PRO MODEL MC1001Q Series 15. after it turned off I opened the lid and the steam that escaped burned my forearm severely! I have a 2nd degree burn and have seen my doctor. I have cooked all my life, used many “ slow cookers” and this one is TOO HOT. I was astounded when it happened. I am a careful, mindful cook. This machine is a real concern to me now. I used it on slow cooker mode.

The product, in the report: Ninja 3 in 1 Cooking System

We have had several issues with our Ninja 3 in 1 Cooking System. The first issue occurred a few weeks ago when the machine turned on by itself. The machine was set to Off since we were done using it. There was no food in it at this time. When we came back to it later we realized it was hot and was heating on a high setting although the dial was set to Off and the display screen was blank. The second incident involved the machine restarting the cook time instead of turning to the auto warm setting. We set the timer to cook overnight for eight hours at approximately 7 p.m. When we woke up at 6 a.m. we saw that the timer had restarted and was showing that there was an additional 4.5 hours of cook time left. The third incident occurred yesterday January 18 2017. We were cooking with a friend so we both started our crock pot timers at the same time. Several hours later we noticed that the timer on our unit was behind so the food was going to cook for longer than it should even if the machine turned to auto warm at the end of the timer. We do not plan to use this machine any longer because we are concerned that it is a fire or a burn hazard since it turns on by itself and the cook setting does not turn off. We contacted Shark Ninja about the problem on January 6 2017 via email (They asked for us to send additional information such as the model number. After they received that information they replied back on January 19 2017 and stated that they could not assist us. They told us to contact the Customer Service Department at 18776465288. We called the Customer Service Department on January 19 2017. They stated that they have not heard of the problem but when we searched online we found several online complaints regarding the machine turning on by itself. These complaints were posted on amazon.com and saferproducts.gov. The customer service representative offered to send a new unit at a discounted price of 87.00 with free shipping. While we were on the phone with him we let him know that Walmart had the unit on sale for 89.10.
