How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 20, 2017, sent to the company Jan 30, 2017, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2017

The product, in the report: 8.5 Slow cooker

The glass top of our slow cooker shattered (after cooking our dinner) into tiny pieces of glass without any type of action such as dropping it, hitting it against an object, etc. When I went online to view any information about this product, I read several negative reviews from other consumers that had the exact same thing happen to them as well. Obviously, this is a dangerous product with the glass lid shattering with no provocation. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The slow cooker is manufactured by a company called Elite (I could not find any information online about this company as far as an address or phone number. The only information online was the retailers that sell this product.) We had purchased this product at Kohls department stores in July 2016 and only had used it no more than 1/2 dozen times.
