No one hurt Made Dec 25, 2016, sent to the company Jan 4, 2017, published by CPSC Jan 19, 2017
The product, in the report: Slow Cooker / [REDACTED] 1.5 quart made by Kitchen Selectives Model # SC-15 120V-50Hz 120W Made in China Intertek 3124629 Conforms to UL STD. 1026
Our gently and well cared for Kitchen Selectives 1.5 quart Slow Cooker Model # SC-15 flashed / exploded on our kitchen counter top after it was moved 1inch. We unplugged the unit immediately. When we lifted it off of the counter top there was a black flash burn mark on the counter top and also on the bottom of the unit where the power cord connects. The explosion caused the power cord to separate from the unit as if someone had cut it off leaving a stub of copper wire. In addition to a potential shock hazard, this unit could have caused a fire. If we were not home at the time we could have lost our home. There was obviously a defect / short circuit in the power cord where it connected to the unit.
