Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Nov 22, 2015, sent to the company Dec 1, 2015, published by CPSC Dec 15, 2015

The product, in the report: Bella red slow cooker 120v~60Hz 250w Intertek 3124629 Conforms to UL STD.1026

I have been using my Bella slow cooker (made in China) many, many times for over 2 years now but just this passed Wednesday, while I was making some cream of corn, I went back to shut it off and noticed the lid completely shattered but still intact, that is, until I tried to lift it off by the handle in the center. That is when shards of glass scattered all over with the remaining falling into the food. This has never happened before so we googled it and found it wasn’t just me it happened to. However, it offered no explanation as to what caused it so I could avoid repeating the same scary experience. I called the manufacturer and explained what happened and she simply sent me a new lid within a few days, no questions asked so I’m assuming this isn’t the first incident.

The product, in the report: triple slow cooker with individual controls

(01/25/2015) The consumer stated she had cooked food earlier that morning in all three sections of the slow cooker.

About three hours later when she was cleaning the middle section of the slow cooker, the consumer noticed ashes in the bottom of the unit. She flipped the unit over and saw that two spots under the bottom of the unit had melted. There was also an electrical smell near the vent opening of the unit.

(01/26/2015) The consumer’s husband contacted the company to tell them what happened. He was advised that the unit was old and worn out and that there was not a recall on the unit.
