  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 26, 2016, sent to the company Sep 6, 2016, published by CPSC Sep 20, 2016

The product, in the report: Sanyo microwave oven, EM-S7560W; rated voltage 120v~ 60Hz; rated input power (microwave) is 1500W; rated output power (microwave) is 1000W; oven capacity 1.1 cubic feet; turntable diameter is 12.4 inch, external dimensions 20.2*15.9*12.0 inch; net weight is 31.5 lbs; White body; observation window is dark gray/black; countertop style

My wife was heating up a cup of tea a week ago with this microwave. When she took her cup out of the microwave oven, the cup slightly bumped onto the door. The observation glass of the microwave door suddenly exploded and cracked completely, which gave my wife quite a fright. Although there was no injury, we could not possibly imagine the consequence if the glass was shattered all over the place at the time.

The product, in the report: 1000w microwave oven with a digital display.

Problem: Sanyo Microwave model EM-S6588S (serial number 1111USM07029A) runs with the door open.

Today I was going to use the microwave in our break room when I found it was unplugged. Not finding any note I plugged it in, and it came on with 0000 displayed (which I assumed was due to no clock being set). I put some food in for about 30 seconds and when I took it out (hot), the microwave was still on with the door open - I had already put my hand in to get the food before I noticed the turn table spinning and the fan on. I was later told by a co-worker that the unit had done the same thing earlier (ran with the door open after the time was supposed to be done) and that was why it was unplugged. I have since notified the facilities dept here and posted a note, so hopefully this unit will be replaced.

I also found a review on Amazon with a similar complaint about this unit - scroll down to the review of this microwave - Sanyo EM-S6588S 1-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel.

This microwave is dangerous and should be recalled.
