The product, in the report: This is an Over the range microwave made by GE, It is stainless in color.

I was making microwave popcorn in my unit last night (10 May 2016) at about 8 pm central standard time (US) when i heard a quick series of loud zaps from the microwave. I immediately turned the unit off and opened the door. I noticed a small fire on the interior ceiling of the unit. I removed the remains of the popcorn and smothered the fire to extinguish. I unplugged the unit from the outlet to cut off anymore power to the unit itself. I immediately called the service and repair number for General Electric and they notified me to call customer relations between 7-5 Eastern time (US). I called this morning and they are going to send out a technician next Thursday (19 May 2016) to look over the unit before they decide how/if they will compensate me for this. Model Number is JNM1541SM5SS Serial Number is FA202512

My wife and I were home at the time and were subject to the fumes that were emitted from the fire and smoke.
