  1. Hurt, no treatment

The product, in the report: ConAgra foods Marie Callendars microwaveable beef pot pie. Pie approximately 4 and an half inches across. Box approximately 5 and an half inches across. Box is blackened so can not read dates numbers etc on bottom or sides

Big fire in my new microwave. Just bought a newly built house in February. Microwave had been used about a dozen times with no issues. Marie Callendars frozen pot pie caught fire in it about 3 minutes into cookIng time. I followed all package directions for cooking. I looked it up and there are quite a few complaints about the Marie Callendars ConAgra pot pies causing fires. Smoke was pouring out the top, bottom, sides. I turned off microwave but didnt open door of it for about two hours so I wouldnt let oxygen feed or rekindle the fire. I had a lot of smoke inhalation so I went outside. After an hour of running stovetop hood fan on high, front and back doors open to get ventilation, fans running to draw smoke out it was still smoky and hazy in my brand new kitchen. I have pictures of the box top of the pot pie removed per instructions, the burned box and black puck that used to be a pot pie in the box, and the persistent haze. Even with cleaning and a box of baking soda to absorb odors the microwave still reeks of burnt food. I wont cook food in it. Im sure the taste will match the smell. Plus im uncertain if the seals are damaged and can leak radiation. My brand new double cell window blinds are all smoky too. I contacted ConAgra to ask them to replace my new microwave and pay for installation but havent heard back. Thats the least they can do for all this entailed and damage done. I coughed for days. Due to my experience that could have been deadly and other consumer complaints of fires due to the MC pot pies and shepherds pie, I think all these products need to be recalled immediately before someone is killed from their faulty packaging. I suspect the silverish lining on the cardboard pie dish thats supposed to keep crust crispy is the issue. It was crispy alright. Pure black.
