No one hurt Made Feb 26, 2020, sent to the company Mar 5, 2020, published by CPSC Mar 19, 2020
The product, in the report: Mainstays Microwave Oven EM720CGA-W (white) 700-watts.
Two weeks ago, I purchased a Mainstays Microwave Oven from Walmart product EM720CGGA-W 700-watts.
I was melting 1 tablespoon of butter on a 30 sec. cycle. After 15 secs. I heard a POP and FIRE was on the interior right-hand side. I unplugged the unit and let the flame burn-out. The butter was not completely melted, so it was not due to burning butter!
I’m single and this unit probably had less than an hour in total usage. I only used it to reheat coffee and 2 to 3 minutes to heat meals.
