LG Microwave Oven, Over The a Range Model: LMV1683ST, PRODUST CODE: MV1642ADLCSBELGA MFG DATE: 2/13. MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT MY DAUGHTER THIS MODEL MICROWAVE LAST YEAR (2013). HER DAUGHTER, A 7 YEAR OLD WAS USING THE MICROWAVE AS A TIMER. AFTER A SHORT WHILE THE MICROWAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE SEVERLY BURNING THE INSIDE TOP PART OF THE MICROWAVE DIRECTLY MOUNTED UNDER THE TOP CABNINET AND ABOVE THE STOVE. THANK GOODNESS MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE KITCHEN WHEN THIS HAPPENED, THE POTENTIAL EXISTED FOR THE HOUSE BEING BURNED DOWN BECAUSE OF BEING MOUNTED UNDER A CABINET. I CONTACTED LG AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS. I REQUESTED REPLACEMENTS FOR BOTH MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER, AS WE PURCHASED THE IDENTICAL MICROWAVE FOR OUR OWN KITCHEN. I WENT ON LINE AND FOUND UNDER AMAZON.COM REVIEWS FOR THIS MODEL MICROWAVE. THERE ARE SEVERAL INSTANCES OF THIS MODEL CATCHING ON FIRE. LG DOES NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY ISSUE WITH THIS MICROWAVE. PLEASE REVIEW THE MATTER ON THE INTERNET, YOU WILL FIND ADDITIONAL SITUATIONS SIMILAR TO OURS. The incident occurred at [REDACTED]. My address is [REDACTED]
