The product, in the report: Microwave under the cabinet
This is a microwave oven approx 3 years old that worked fine until I closed the door one evening and the microwaves didn’t turn off. The timer was not on, the fan was not on...it should have been off, but it wasn’t. I opened the door immediately and my husband “tested” it with a glass of water and the water boiled in under a minute! If I hadn’t opened the door (and effectively turned the machine off) we would have had a fire.
GE offered us a repair person for $100 + parts and labor which might have been upwards of $200 and we can purchase a new microwave for less than that. Shame, appliances should have longer lives.
