As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 26, 2013, sent to the company Jul 5, 2013, published by CPSC Jul 19, 2013

The product, in the report: Amana 20.1 cu ft Upright Frost-free Commercial Freezer Model # AQF2013TEW03 Serial #UO539 3653 model f 20 (woods mfg’d). I ordered it online on June 8, 2011 and received it on June 15, 2011. Price $699 Purchased from HomeDepot.com

I went to my freezer to take out food and found that the freezer was extremely hot to touch and it was making a very loud clanking noise. I opened the door and found all my food had been defrosted and ruined and had to throw away a few hundred dollars of food. I think if I had not gone to the room with the freezer that it would have caused a fire in my home. The consumer safety report said to unplug and discontinue use. I can’t seem to get any help with this matter even though I had to now buy a repair plan. The repair man came, plugged in the freezer and it appears to be working ok for now so he did not repair anything. It is not a matter of “if’ but “when” something bad happens, yet without it plugged in and running the man cannot diagnose a problem until he sees it or hears it, until it acts up again, (that is what he said), therefore I still have no freezer or remedy. What ever happened to the days when the place where you purchased something took it back and gave you a working model? The USA has become a pathetic example for doing business.
