  1. Emergency room

Made Feb 10, 2026, sent to the company Feb 13, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 2, 2026

The product, in the report: GARMENT STEAMER Model No.: HL6 Ratings: 120V ~ 60Hz 700W Household use only. Do not immerse in water. FCC cULus LISTED E524529 Manufacturer: Shenzhen Kelubo Technology Co., Ltd. Date: 04/2025

A household garment steamer was being used for its intended purpose when it malfunctioned and caused serious burn injuries to my minor child. The product involved was a handheld garment steamer, Model No. HL6, rated 120V ~ 60Hz 700W, manufactured by Shenzhen Kelubo Technology Co., Ltd.

When setting the steamer down, hot steam and hot water unexpectedly exploded out of the nozzle coming into direct contact with my sons skin while sitting next to me.

The steamer was being used normally in a household setting for steaming clothing. It was not misused, altered, or immersed in water.

My son was the person injured during this incident.

As a result, he suffered second-degree burns to his face, neck, chest, and stomach. The injuries occurred when hot steam and hot water from the steamer contacted his skin. The burns required medical attention.

This incident is being reported because of the severity of the injuries, the fact that a child was involved, and serious safety concerns about a household product that caused significant harm during normal use.
