The product, in the report: Waring Professional Waffle Maker WWM400 seires
I made waffles this morning using the Waring Professional Waffle Maker WWM400 seires. I dont cook on the highest heat setting at all; but it would appear that doesnt matter. The screws and joint structure came apart as if the plastic melted and could no longer hold or support the griddles.
I always used safe handling and stored it appropriately. The plastic joint that supports the top and bottom griddles is not a high quality material that is made to last (plastic).

The product, in the report: Waring Belgian Waffle Maker - WMK200
My 13 month old waffle maker recently stopped working. I noticed there was a hole melted in the base. Taking apart the waffle maker, I discovered that both wire nuts had melted and the connection had melted a hole in the base of the waffle maker. The two bare connections could have easily shorted, and thus creating a potential risk of fire and electrical shock.
The waffle maker is used to make 4-8 waffles 1-2 times per week. It is wiped clean, and has never been submerged in any way.

The product, in the report: Waring Pro electric Waffle Iron model WMK300
I purchased a Waring Pro electric waffle iron Model WMK300 about 5 years ago. I have used it many times. Today, my daughter and I were making waffles, the first waffle mix was placed in the waffle maker and turned. When the ready light signaled for a cooked waffle, my daughter turned the handle and the rear of the waffle iron collapsed, failed and fell, being held by only the electric wires causing a short, several sparks until I quickly unplugged the unit. It appears as though the plastic just failed.

The product, in the report: Waring Double Waffle Maker (WMK 600)
Our 6 year old daughter’s arm came into contact with the outside of the waffle maker (Waring #WMK600) briefly, which resulted in a first/second degree burn. The outside appears to be heated to an unsafe level during operation.

No one hurt Made Jun 25, 2011, published by CPSC Jul 19, 2011
The product, in the report: Warring Professional Belgium Waffle maker. It is the type that flips over. Stainless steel, 1200 watt, 120 volts.
Hello, I have the Warring Belgium Waffle maker wwm200ssa, which has worked for me well for the last few years. Recently the top element stopped working and overheated the machine. Had I not been with the appliance, it may have caused a fire. As it is, the screws got so hot they melted away from the plastic parts. The reason the top element stopped working was because the positive wire came loose from the connector and was arcing. Instead of the appliance automatically shutting down, all the power was routed directly to the bottom element, giving it twice the power it was supposed to have. While I understand this is out of warranty, it represents a significant product safety issue and design flaw. I am not seeking remuneration/replacement, the product is otherwise good quality. I just want to make sure this issue is brought up. thanks for looking out for us.
