No one hurt Made Feb 20, 2019, sent to the company Mar 14, 2019, published by CPSC Mar 28, 2019
The product, in the report: Dash mini waffle maker. Color: mint. Model number: DMW001AQ
I purchased this mini waffle maker in November 2018, so it is only about 3.5 months old at this point. I use it about 2 times per day. I noticed yesterday that it is malfunctioning and it could be a fire hazard. The top half of the iron heats and the bottom does not. The problem is that the waffle iron relies on both top and bottom to get hot to trigger the device to turn off the light and stop the iron from working to get any hotter, once it reaches the required temperature. Without the bottom half heating up to help trigger the stop, the top half never stops getting hotter. The plastic on the top got so hot, the last time I used it, it has heat burn marks.
