How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 2 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 26, 2012, sent to the company Sep 5, 2012, published by CPSC Sep 19, 2012

The product, in the report: White Sensotoast Deluxe 287P 110V; Product code : T241150ER00 Made in Spain. Bar code reads F2877951/80P-26092

Toaster failed and combusted inside. Printed circuit actually combusted at take-off for quartz heating elements. Reached temperatures high enough to melt lead. Circuit board was actually burned and powdered. Very dangerous considering that there are flamable bread crumbs inside. Fortunately it was unplugged before any fire was started. I am not alone. 2. No one hurt

Made Aug 10, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 1, 2011

The product, in the report: KRUPS CONVECTION/TOASTER OVEN, model FBC4 (6 slice) Stainless/black with quartz heating tube technology Height: 10-3/8 inches Length: 14-3/4 inches Depth: 20-1/2 inches Weight: 17 lbs Capacity: 0.59 cubic foot

KRUPS TOASTER/CONVECTION OVEN, model FBC4, purchased January 2007, used almost daily to toast bread, reheat food, and sometimes roast chicken/beef. In August 2011 (used for 4 years) the oven stopped turning off, unless unplugged. The upper heating element (quartz tube) remained red-hot. In the preceding months I noticed the toasting function was intermittently failing to toast evenly, until complete failure to shut off, as described previously.
