The product, in the report: 4 slice toaster
For several years, I have owned and used a Corningware Electrics 4-slice Toaster. Yesterday, it malfunctioned very badly, failing to pop up the toast until it was a smoking charred black mess that completely filled my house with heavy smoke. My son noticed that it was beginning to fail several days ago, but didn’t inform me of the situation. Had I not noticed, unplugged the toaster and put the toast in the sink with water, I’m certain that it would have continued to burn until the unit and subsequently my house would have caught fire. The model number is TS-4318, the UL listing is E106413, Listed, 99N3. It was purchased some time ago at the Boston Store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for $50.00. However, I am not looking for financial reimbursement. I simply want you to be aware of this very grave potential fire hazard. If you would like to examine the toaster, I will hold onto it for a bit, but either way, I would like to hear back from you that you have received this message. I will also copy Better Homes with this email. Thank you, [REDACTED]
