  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 25, 2020, sent to the company Aug 6, 2020, published by CPSC Aug 20, 2020

The product, in the report: The product is described on Amazon as “Metal Food Grinder Attachments for [REDACTED] Stand Mixers, Durable Meat Grinder, Sausage Stuffer Attachment Compatible with All [REDACTED] Stand Mixers, includes Two Sausage Stuffer Tubes” https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RWYW74H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We purchased a Kitoart meat grinder attachment for a [REDACTED] stand mixer on August 7, 2019 from Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RWYW74H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). We used this product extensively and without incident until July 24, 2020. On July 24th, after grinding up approximately 4lbs of boneless turkey breasts, we found a small, approximately 1/4 inch metal shard in the sink while cleaning the grinder. The sharp is extremely sharp and, with jagged and ponted edges. There was an approximately 1/2 inch break in the grinding screw mechanism, which is larger than the shard that we found. We confirmed that the metal shard was not the only missing piece from the break in the grinding screw mechanism.

We have discontinued use of and preserved the meat grinder and the shard as well as having taken pictures thereof. We will need to discard the meat ground that day as well as any meat in our freezer that we had ground previously with the product. This will result in a loss of at least $50 for us in terms of the meat that we will need to throw away and $63.99 for the purchase of the meat grinder.
