No one hurt Made Mar 1, 2012, sent to the company Mar 8, 2012, published by CPSC Mar 22, 2012
The product, in the report: Cruisinart table top mixer. 3 years old.
I used my Cruisinart tabletop mixer to make pizza dough. When I finished, I left the unit plugged in but turned off.I was doing other things in the kitchen. After 10 minutes I smelt something strange and started checking to find the smell. I looked at the mixer and smoke was coming out the top and flowing from underneath the unit. I immediately unplugged the mixer and took it outside. Thank goodness I was home and noticed this. It could have caused a fire and burnt the house down. Very scary. The unit was only 3 years old. I have never had any appliance do this before.
