The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 12, 2019, sent to the company Apr 22, 2019, published by CPSC May 6, 2019

The product, in the report: BLACK HOTPLATE single burner

The hotplate when turned off I can still here it switching itself on and off. This just recently started doing this. I can hear this when I forget to unplug it. I am concerned if it is still turning on and off that something could happen and a fire start. Oster is replacing it out of warranty because the know it is a problem. The government needs to be sure they will do something before something dangerous happens. Off should be OFF. I forget things time to time.

  2. No one hurt

Made Mar 15, 2017, sent to the company Apr 28, 2017, published by CPSC May 12, 2017

The product, in the report: Oster Table Stove Boca Raton, FL 33431 Model CKSTSB100-8 120V A.C., 60Hz, 900 W Made in China Intertek 3077401 P/N 152575

I turned the appliance dial as far to the left as possible to the OFF position and happened not to unplug it from the outlet like I normally do. When I returned home, and neared the appliance, I noticed the plate was hot even though it was in the OFF position. This is dangerous and consumers and the manufacturer need to know and fix this problem so it doesn’t lead to a fire in someone’s home.
