The product, in the report: Electric griddle
Bought a new Toastmaster griddle. Using it for the first time. Noticed one side wasn’t cooking the food. Turned it up a half notch. Started to smell something awful burning. Thought it must be the cord. Unplugged it. Smell was getting stronger. Crouched down to look under the hot griddle and saw the heating element sitting directly on the quartz countertop burning it. It had not been attached to the unit. It was redhot and smoking. After we moved it and turned it over the heating element was burned through and white powder and pieces of the cable heating element were all over.
