The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach Durathon Ceramic Griddle; griddle model# 38518R, series A2122; power adapter model #ZL203 200 sq in non-stick griddle I cannot locate manufacture date or code on the item
In 2019 I purchased a Hamilton Beach (electric) Ceramic Griddle. In 2023 I noted the power adapter reaching untouchable temperatures exceeding 150 degrees. Later that year, I noted one of the inputs on the adapter had burned and ash was present. I reported this incident to Hamilton Beach and after significant persistence on my part, they replaced the griddle and adapter. In the fall of 2024, I noted once again that the new adapter was reaching these same temperatures making it impossible to handle without a potholder. I reached out to Hamilton Beach and was informed this was normal as it was a heating mechanism. In January 2025, I noted the inside of one of the inputs was once again beginning to burn. This seems to be a significant safety hazard that could start a fire.

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach reversbile electric griddle
Hamilton Beach reversible griddle G43. Bacon grease does not drain into the grease trap very well. Instead it collects on the griddle then seeps down between the two reversible griddle plates and has the potential to come in contact with the electric heating elements. Creating a fire hazard. I have had several occasions where smoke has come from under the griddle plates but no fire.
