The product, in the report: Cooks by JcPenney brand Electric Griddle Bottom of griddle lists Sensio Inc Griddle Model G-716 Lot 2175 120V,60Hz,1500W
I was using a Cooks by JcPenney Electric Griddle purchased in 2010.
I was using the griddle at a temperature of 300F when my outlet sparked and made a loud popping sound. I unplugged the griddle and moved the plug to another outlet. I continued to use the griddle at a temperature of 250F. I then went to flip my food when I was shocked through my metal spatula when it made contact with the metal of the griddle plate. I immediately unplugged the unit.
At the time I was also using the fan on my over-the-range microwave and an[REDACTED] (wifi radio) on the same circuit. There were no other appliances plugged in or running. The microwave and [REDACTED] had no issues and continued to work.
