The product, in the report: Rival Deep Fryer Model CF153 Deep Fryer.

I have a “Rival” model number CF153 Deep Fryer and experienced a alarming scare on this evening after having deep frying some waffle fries in it for my daughter and grandchildren. The screw that’s placed directly above the glass view in the top had come dislodged and had mixed in with the fries. My daughter, when eating the fries, realized she was biting down on something quite hard and spit it out to reveal it was a screw. I then inspected the deep fryer to determine where it might have come from and was able to determine it was the screw placed above the glass view. I am very thankful that she did not swallow the screw, but want you to know about this incident, as you may want to re-think how this particular item is put together, and may need to consider a re-call.

The above information has been e-mailed to the Rival company on this day as well, 2/15/12.

I am so sorry that my daughter had this terrible experience, as it could have been so much worse. Am also thankful that my grands did not get the fries with the screw in it, since it was very small and was undetected.
