I used the deep fryer to make homemade fried pastries for my daughters 10th birthday. I only put three in at at time but when I came back to check on them the deep fryer was smoking and filled with flames. The fire department was called but my husband was able to put the fire out and we discarded the burnt deep fryer and purchased a new one. I did suffer from mild hand burns. My cabinets, microwave and curtains were all burnt due to the fact the deep fryer was plugged by the cabinets by the window.
