  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Dec 29, 2014, sent to the company Jan 7, 2015, published by CPSC Jan 22, 2015

The product, in the report: Butterball oil free turkey fryer, outdoor edition.

Purchased a Butterball oil free turkey fryer, model 20100809. Was taking out of box and the glass lid shattered into several pieces. on 12/12/2014, I called Masterbuilt, the manufacturer, and was told they would send a new lid. When I did not receive lid within the next week (3-5 business days) window as promised, I called back on 12/23/2015 . Masterbuilt rep told me they did not have that item in stock. I asked for a supervisor, and could only relay message which was a request for a new unit as they could not send me a lid. Rep called back, 12/24/2014, and said they would not replace entire unit, and they had a hold on the lids. Apparently other customers had this problem also. Further, until lid tested and released I could not be shipped a new lid. The shipping dept was closed for holidays until 1/5/2015, and even if tested and approved the item would not be shipped until they came back from vacation. If I wanted my money back I would have to take it up with Bass Pro, the retailer. As of today, 12/29/2015, I cannot find any recalls for this and haven’t heard anything from Masterbuilt.
