The product, in the report: This is a Thermador built in coffee maker. Model TCM24TS/06
I have a Thermador built in coffee maker model # TCM24TS/06 which had a problem with the plastic brewing mechanism melting. This happened in the beginning of August 2026. I descale and clean the machine regularly as per the instructions. I have owned this coffee maker for approximately five years. After I descaled it, I tried to brew coffee and only a few drops would come out and then a lot of steam came out of the front of the machine. After it cooled, I inspected it and found that the plastic in the brewing unit melted. I contacted Thermador and made an appointment with a service technician. He came out in about two weeks and when I told him what happened, he said it was probably a clogged hose. He never opened the unit up to inspect and came to that conclusion. My concern is having a fire in the kitchen cabinets. There are other things that could cause overheating such as the heating element. The unit is supposed to heat water for brewing coffee and heating milk but obviously it got hot enough to melt plastic. Shouldn’t there be a mechanism to prevent overheating? I feel that this is a real safety issue that could result in a fire.
