While using this Espresso maker, twice it was not shut off and was wound to be out of water yet still heating. After 30-60 minutes the smell of burning plastic led us to the still energized Espresso Machine. The upper plastic on the machine was hot and could not be safely touched with a finger.

I was using the Sowtech espresso maker to make another cup of espresso and removed the cap at the top to add more water. The machine was in “pause” mode and steam came out of the top as I loosened the cap. The cap then flew off of the top and the steam burned my arm significantly. There is a warning to put the machine in off mode before opening the cap but it is printed on top of the cap in the same color as the cap itself so I did not see the warning.

Coffee maker started smelling really hot and like burning wiring. It stopped working about two months after I purchased it. I completely disassembled it and was horrified at the materials used and condition of the two month old machine so I threw it away. I later read on Amazon that people were getting burned and ill from the acrid smoke.

This device burned in the house fire and can not be determined the exact model number and serial number but I do have the amazon order number that in contacting the seller/manufacturer should be able to obtain that information.
This coffee machine was determined by the fire marshal to be the cause of a fire in my home that has caused severe damage to my entire home and displaced me and my family for this time. We were not at home when it happened and no one was injured. We have been displaced from our home for what has been estimated to be 4-6 months at minimum.

The first time I went to use this product The espresso started pouring into the glass cup and it literally projectile EXPLODED all over my kitchen. My mom and I were able to duck in time, but glass shards went everywhere and shot at least 10ft into my living room! I was using the SOWTECH espresso machine, as I have many times without issue, when I heard what sounded like a loud explosion in my kitchen. I found the funnel and detachable filter had been launched 5+ feet from the machine, in the process the carafe had been launched and broken into pieces. There was hot espresso and shards of glass all over the kitchen counter and floor. It appears that a rubber gasket from where the funnel locks had come out of the machine during the event.

As I finished making a new brew and lifted the glass carafe, it immediately shattered. I waited about 10 seconds after turning the machine off to lift it. Fortunately no injuries as the machine was on a surface away from my body.
It was a SOWTECH Model CM6811. I didn’t report it at the time because I didn’t know I could. I recently received a recall notice from Amazon and I thought I should also notify on here that my glass carafe shattered.

Around May, 2021 I was making espresso coffee with my SOWTECH Espresso machine. As the coffee was dripping into the carafe, had my back turned to the machine. BOOM!!! The metal filter exploded onto the glass carafe, shattering glass for several feet around. I was not injured because I had walked far enough away at that point. I did take some photos at the time, but I did not follow through and report it.. I didn’t want to send contact information to China, where the machine was made

SOWTECH Espresso Machine, 3.5 Bar 4 cup steamer coffee maker cappuccino machine with milk frother wand for espresso, cappuccino, and latte macchiato. My mom purchased this on my Amazon account on December 5, 2020 as a Christmas gift for me. I opened it up on December 25, 2020 but did not use it until December 27, 2020 for the first time. My son who at the time was six years old, was very interested in the machine and how it worked. So him and I were in the kitchen watching it as it was making our espresso. Out of nowhere the glass started to steam up really quickly and bursted before we had a time to run out of the room. My son was closer to the espresso machine due to the fact that he was more interested in how it worked than I was. We both had cuts all over us but he received more deeper ones than I did due to being closer. They didn’t require for us to go to the hospital but they were deep enough to where I needed to clean it disinfect it and cover it. He was not wearing a shirt at the time so he had cuts on the side of his stomach and his arms. I had cuts on my arms and one on my cheek. The address listed below is my current address but when this happened we lived in [REDACTED]. My mom ended up getting a hold of Amazon and they told her that we needed to return the product to a UPS store located near us. I returned the product to a UPS store on December 28, 2020 and they refunded me Amazon credit of $63.74. The Amazon order number for this product is [REDACTED]

Re Recall: [REDACTED] I bought a Sowtech Espresso machine earlier this year. It is the same model CM6811 of the recall. On 6/15/21 we had a major incident with this machine. We had the machine in our coffee nook in our cabinetry. The carafe exploded while the espresso machine was brewing the coffee. We had used this machine 2-3x per week since buying it a few months ago. This explosion sent glass flying through our kitchen. We very fortunately had stepped away from the machine for a few seconds and and did not incur any bodily harm. The explosion unfortunately did cause damage and stains to our cabinetry that did require repair.

New espresso maker exploded after about 5 uses. Glass from the beaker flew everywhere in the kitchen, along with hot coffee. There was no one in the room at the time, no injuries. I do not know the date of manufacture but could not proceed without one so I entered 01/01/2021.
