The product, in the report: 12 cup coffeemaker
The consumer noticed on 8/1/14 that the power cord had exposed copper wire. Consumer believes this poses a safety hazard. The copper poked through the insulation, where it meets the female connector.
The consumer states 2 months after he purchased the unit the light on the side near the base of the unit would go off and when you would push the unit back to the wall the light would turn back on. The consumer states that by pushing the unit back it would cause the power cord to press in toward the coffee pot, turning the light on.
The consumer called the firm and they advised him that the firm “pulled their GE Walmart line from Walmart”. The consumer suggested sending the unit to them. They didn’t want to look at the item. The firm advised him that if the unit was older than a year it is out of warranty and they couldn’t do anything about it.
