The product, in the report: Gevalia Coffee Maker Model: CM500
I have a Gevalia Coffee maker [model: CM5OO] which in July, 2017 burned through the bottom and burned a hole in our Corrian counter top. On 7/27/17 (10:25 am], I contacted Customer Svc. [REDACTED] explained the problem and was told it would be elevated to an Acct. Mgr. who would contact me within 48 hrs. On 8/1/17 [120+Hrs. later), I received a call from [REDACTED] in Quality. He basically said they would assume no responsibility since I had had it for more than one year. I emphasized that I was concerned about the fire hazard and the damage to my countertop not a replacement coffee maker. He never addressed my concern but said he would elevate my complaint and that I would be contacted. Since I have attempted to get into my account with no success and I have never heard from them [7 months]. Thus it is clear that they have no intention of addressing this hazard. Had the countertop been flammable or napkin near by my kitchen would I have been in flames!
