The product, in the report: Elite Platinum Electric Kettle by Maxi-Matic Model-EKT-200 120 Volts 60 Hz 1200 Watts
I have an Elite Platinum Electric Tea Kettle by Maxi-Matic. I filled the carafe and started the unit to boil the water. At the end of the cycle when I lifted the carafe off of the base unit, I found that there where 2 melted plastic blobs on the base unit. Upon further investigation I found a whole melted on the carafe bottom that was exposing internal wiring.
