The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Capresso coffee maker
Within about 1 year during normal daily use, the spring inside the drip basket mechanism deteriorated and fragmented. Segments fell into the underlying coffee pot. Ultimately, a fragment was poured into my coffee cup and I almost drank it. No injury--but I could have swallowed it. It had sharp ends. I have pictures of the metal fragments. On 12/15/2022, I notified the manufacturer: Jura Inc. Product: Capresso. Model #426. Their customer service number to whom I reported my safety complaint: 800.767.3554. Their agent offered to send me a free replacement basket and forward my safety notification “up their chain of command.” They declined to want my photos of the broken metal fragment.

No one hurt Made Dec 5, 2019, sent to the company Dec 31, 2019, published by CPSC Jan 14, 2020
The product, in the report: electric water kettle
(11/25/2019) The consumer stated that she had used the kettle to make tea and was getting ready to leave the house. She heard a click and saw a light on the handle. The water kettle had come back on by itself.
This happened multiple times not just once.
(12-05-2019) The consumer contacted the firm and was advised that, according to the manual, the product should be unplugged after each use because a power surge will cause the product to turn itself on.
The consumer stated that this is a safety concern because the information referencing the power surge is not included in the manual.

No one hurt Made Dec 27, 2017, sent to the company Mar 21, 2018, published by CPSC Apr 5, 2018
The product, in the report: Capresso Iced Tea Maker Black 624.01
I was filling the pitcher of my iced tea maker with ice from my refrigerator door and noticed ice falling to the floor. When I looked at the bottom of the pitcher, I noticed that an ice cube had broken through the glass, and glass shards were all over the floor. I put the broken container in the sink and quickly cleaned up the glass before anyone was able to walk into the kitchen. No injuries were sustained.
I am writing because my husband and I are concerned about the glass pitcher on this item. This pitcher was not used outside of the manufacturer warnings and should not have broken with normal use. Upon the first use, my husband and I were both surprised that the glass used on the pitcher was so thin - especially on the bottom. However we (wrongly) assumed that because this iced tea maker was more costly than others on the web site, the glass must be stronger or of better quality.
We do not feel that an ice cube falling from a dispenser should have enough impact to crack or break through glass. While no injuries were sustained with this incident, an injury could have easily occurred. Since I did not hear the glass break, I could have easily stepped on broken glass. I also could have easily cut myself on the bottom of the pitcher or while cleaning up the shards from the floor. In addition, if a consumer happened to crack the glass with an ice cube, then continue to make tea (which adds hot water to the pitcher while it brews), the pitcher could easily shatter. I do not believe the pitcher is tempered, which is a larger concern if children or pets are around when the pitcher breaks.

The product, in the report: Jura-Capresso tea kettle, kettle model no. 260
Heated water in Capresso electric tea kettle (Model 260) as usual (glass carafe with plastic handle, separate electric base). The product, in the report: Capresso electric kettle, model 259-3
While holding the handle of my Capresso electric kettle, model 259-3, to pour water in my teapot after it reached its boiling point, it came unglued from the kettle itself. I was lucky enough that I did not incur any injury, but it was a close call!

The product, in the report: Capresso Kettle model 259
Handle began to separate from the kettle when I was pouring boiling water. I stopped using before sustaining injury. The problem appears to be identical to a previous recall of the same Capresso kettle, but with a model designation one digit older. i.e. 258.03 and 258.04 were recalled. I have model 259.

I received from my son GIFT a nice Capresso Model # 260 that handle came off and burned my hand. I’ve had it for about less then one year.
I loved it until then. I was researching online to see if I can replace the water kettle on line and I came across the WATER KETTLES REPORT RECALLED Base Model 256/258.
I believe this is the same problem. The handle came off after using the kettle. I never over filled the kettle, above the line. Husband doesn’t drink much hot items, so I was mostly using this. So no mishandle here.
My oldest that I received the gift from doesn’t reside at this address. I believed that he purchase this item at Kitchen Kabootle here in Hillsboro, OR
