The product, in the report: BUNN MCU Single Cup Multi-Use Home Coffee Brewer
While using my Bunn MCU Single Cup coffee maker, the pod drawer suddenly ejected causing hot coffee and coffee grounds to eject onto my countertop. This happened a few months ago and I called Bunn and spoke to a supervisor. He said they have had problems with this model in the past because the pump is too powerful causing the ejection of the pod. The newer model apparently corrects this problem. He then sent me a new coffee pod drawer, free of charge. The pod drawer he sent was working without incident until today. I also reviewed the recall list of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and noticed there was a [REDACTED.
I called BUNN 11/04/2019 and informed them of the ongoing problem I have been experiencing and their solution was to send out a replacement spray head and seal for the unit. I explained this might be a temporary fix as was the coffee pod drawer. It should also be noted they no longer make the one cup brewer stating they can’t get parts from overseas yet they can get overseas parts for their 10 cup brewer. I’m very skeptical of this explanation.
This product is dangerous as it could cause serious burns. My grandchildren were in the same room when this happened but luckily were not near the unit.
