The product, in the report: 12 cup Brim Trio Multibrew System. Black with silver.
I started a pot of coffee in my Brim Trio Multibrew System coffee maker. I went to the bathroom and when I came out I noticed smoke coming from my kitchen. When I entered my kitchen I saw smoke coming from the coffee maker. and some flames coming from under it. I unplugged it and removed the pot of coffee that was just completed. I then took the unit outside. The fire had gone out but was still smoking heavily. As I looked at the unit I notice the ring around the hot plate had broken and the plate had fallen on that side. when I looked at the bottom I could see where the heating element had melted and burned the plastic. Thankfully I caught it in time and no further damage was done to my home and no one was injured. I typically make one pot per day and use [REDACTED] for the rest of the day. I purchased this item in august 2020 and put it in service the second week of September. so it has only been used for 4 months.
