The product, in the report: white coffee pot in the sdc700 seires recall

acprcall of sdc700 series coffee pots. our handle broke off, luckily with only 1/2 pot of hot coffee. I inspected the unit and believed this would not be an isolated breakage, then I found the recall online. I am following the instructions properly. it has been over a month and have not recd the replacement part. very upset about this. I would rather go buy another company product than have an unusable promise that simply puts me out. THIS COMPANY IS LUCKY NO ONE IN MY HOME - INCLUDING CHILDREN - GOT HURT WITH A KNOWN DANGEROUS PRODUCT. my complaint is - repair promise not fulfilled.

The product, in the report: space maker coffee maker

After brewing a cup of coffee the consumer attempted to remove the carafe from the hot plate by the plastic handle which detached.

The glass carafe hit the counter top but did break and the hot liquid spilled everywhere.

The consumer spoke with the firm on 3/27/2012 and they offered to send out a replacement carafe. The consumer declined and states that she advised them of her safety concerns with the plastic handle and that she wanted a full refund

The firm advised the consumer to cut the cord and mail it back in and pay for the shipping in order to receive a full refund.

The consumer states that her concerns are that the liquid is too heavy for the carafe and the handle is made of plastic. She also states that she has used the product once a week since she has had. The space maker was installed by the consumer’s husband.

The space maker has not been used since the incident occurred. Teh cosnuemr

The product, in the report: 4-6 Cup Electric Coffee Maker

Caller had brewed her coffee, drank it and was preparing to wash the pot. She picked the pot up by the handles as she always had in the past, however this time the handle remained in her hand while the pot dropped to the sink. Pot is metal and handle is heavy plastic. Caller has stated that this is believed a safety hazard due ot the possible situation where a consumer could be picking the pot with hot coffee instead of cooled coffe and could become scalded.
