The product, in the report: Toastmaster model #357 120V 1400W 60Hz White exterior

Toastmaster 357 was on when I pulled it out to use it. I never use the oven feature so I made sure that it had not been moved and it hadn’t. When we moved from the home we were in when I bought the toaster, I realized that the wall behind the toaster was scorched, note to self always pull it out before you use it. That was not enough. If the toaster is plugged in it is on always. Very scary, because I Love my toaster. Is there a recall that I am not aware of??

The product, in the report: Toaster Oven/Broiler Model TOV320 Small white appliance --- fits nicely on countertop

    Friends gave me a

    Toastmaster 4-slice Toaster Oven/Broiler Model TOV320

for my Jersey shore summer condo. There have been several fires in it, on several occasions the timer has not advanced and the appliance not shut off causing the toast to burn, and it has also overheated on many occasions. (have pictures on cell phone -- unfortunately don’t know how to download to this form)

Having had the problem several times I forbid my grands from using it. When I recently saw the complaints I realized it was past time for me to report this unsafe product.

Went to the manufacturers website and inasmuch as I did not bring the appliance home and it was required that I put in numbers from the cord it would not accept my complaint. Called the number on the booklet and that was futile. Went to consumer reports, underwriter laboratories, and finally found numerous complaints on SelectSmart.com. Could not believe all the complaints and they are still sold in stores -- [REDACTED] etc.

I then called the number for Consumer Products Safety and was directed to this site. I have been online for hours with this complaint.

Incidents ranged from July 2011 to June 2012.

The product, in the report: Toastmaster Toaster Oven/Broiler model number TOV320, white. No serial number is visible on the appliance.

Toastmaster Toaster Oven/Broiler is just over one year old. When using yesterday to bake a sweet potato, the glass door shattered. The oven was set at 350 degrees and had been on about 20 minutes. The door was tempered glass and no glass shards were produced when it shattered but glass was all over my kitchen counter top in front of the toaster oven.

The product, in the report: Toastmaster Toaster Oven, White , Model # TOV320 ( same model caught on fire twice , 2 separate ovens)

I had a toastmaster toaster oven that I had owned for 8 months, I was toasting toast and when I returned to check on it, the oven was on fire with flames coming out of it. I unplugged it and it took about 3 minutes for the flames to go out. I went to the store and bought the same toaster oven and 3-4 weeks later, it caught on fire, also as I was toasting bread again. I noticed it quickly and unplugged the oven, so it did not damage as much as my first one , but I still am concerned with the brand.

First incident around the date of July 30, 2011. Second incident happened August 17, 2011.

The product, in the report: Toastmaster toster oven

The toaster over door glass exploded and scattered into many pieces. Thank God my grandchildren were not watching the bread toasting as they like to do, as someone could have seriously been injured. This is 2011, and i now read on the einternet, these glass doors have been exploding since before 2005. hat gives with your safety assuranhce, etc. Do you have enough insurance coverage that you donm`t care about the safety and welfare of your customers. Or is it all about PROFIT.
