How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 2 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Oster Toaster Oven model 6081-000

Oster Toaster Oven model 6081-000 The other day my son was making some pizza rolls and he burned them pretty bad. I told him to be more careful and not put so much time. He has used this oven a lot so I thought nothing of it. Yesterday I was heating up an apple pie set the timer for 10 minutes and turned to do other things. Well the smell of smoke hit me fast. I turned to see the pie starting to burn. The first thing I did was pull the plug that’s when I noticed that the timer was still on 10 minutes. I then realized that is what had happened to my son’s pizza rolls the other day. I searched online and found that other people have had the same thing happen to them. I searched some more and found nothing else as far as any warning or recall on this. I don’t know how many problems it takes to issue warnings on products but I hope someone does not have to go thru a house fire to get the word out.

    Thank you,

The product, in the report: Convection Toaster Oven

On Thursday, July 12th, 2012 caller was toasting bread, looked through glass door to view then began opening the door to remove his toast, however, once glass door was open approximately 20 to 30 degrees, the glass in the door exploded leaving the caller holding only the handle.

Microwave was purchased in July 2009 and only three years old. No one was injured. Caller has not contacted the manufacturer but does intend to contact them.

Caller cleaned the glass up and disposed of it.

He states that there are still shreds and shards attached to the door and to the handle.

Caller would ask that the public be made aware and that a recall be introduced if there are any other incidents similar to his.
