No one hurt Made Jul 8, 2013, sent to the company Jul 16, 2013, published by CPSC Jul 30, 2013
The product, in the report: Black and Decker Toaster Oven
Toaster Oven would not turn off and toast almost caught on fire. This was a brand new BD Toaster Oven with three knobs. There is nothing on the toaster oven which indicates that the oven is set to off.
I called BD Customer support and they explained that the bottom knob should be turned parallel with the countertop. Going all the way over leaves the unit permanently in an on position. There is a O which is supposed to indicate Off but the word Off does not appear on the Toaster Oven. This is a terrible design flaw. Even the DIrections for Use are not clear on this.
