The product, in the report: Ronco Standard Electric Rotisserie

We have a Ronco Standard Rotisserie Electric Roaster. It is about 15 year old. I had loaded my chicken in the oven as directed. It was plugged in but not on. There was a piece of chicken skin hanging down and touching the pan that touches the grate so I went to grab it to cut it off. It was then that a received a strong shock that I felt go from my left hand through my chest and out my right hand that was holding a knife. I had no injury, but we through the thing away.

The product, in the report: Showtime Rotisserie and Barbeque Oven (portable)

The consumer says after using the rotisserie he noticed the cord to the machine was extremely hot. The prongs in the outlet were melting the wire from the machine to the outlet.

It left blackened marks on the outlet. In the past he noticed the wire being exceptionally warm. Yesterday however he noticed the unit hot to the touch. The consumer says he uses the product roughly twice a year if that.

He contacted the manufacturer who said the unit is out of warranty and there is nothing that they can do.
