The product, in the report: Toaster oven. Approximately 14” wide x 9” tall. Brushed sheet metal exterior with black plastic feet. Rounded corners. Clear glass window with “rival” logo in center. Vertical control panel on right side with knobs for temperature, mode, and timer settings.
My toaster oven was emitting a smell of burning plastic for several days. Recently, while toasting it began to arc and shoot flames from the vents next to the control panel. Upon disassembling the unit I traced the cause of the incident to a resistor which failed and began to arc, igniting the shrink tubing surrounding it.
