The entire outside metal of the NUWAVE Bravo Air Fryer Oven 12-in-1, 30QT XL Large Capacity Digital Countertop Convection Oven becomes dangerously hot, and even smokes! Unlike a microwave oven, the NUWAVE Oven is a fire hazard on a countertop next to a wall, appliance, or any other object.

First aid Made Jan 21, 2017, sent to the company Feb 6, 2017, published by CPSC Feb 28, 2017
The product, in the report: Black NuWave Oven
NuWave oven has a defective plastic shell, that can crack and cause hands and finger cuts. Mine has been cracked for over a year, and keeps cracking. I am very careful with it, and I never use the dishwasher to clean it. I have contacted the company, and they wont do anything. Many reports on this site, and on the internet, are saying the same thing. This product needs a recall before Icut my finger or hand. Sharp edges protrude from the cracks, and cause an unsafe condition.

First aid Made Sep 18, 2013, sent to the company Sep 26, 2013, published by CPSC Oct 28, 2013
The product, in the report: NuWave Mini Infrared Oven by Hearthware. The Power Head is white, the dome clear. The unit is a oval shape. Label also includes “convection oven”.
Purchased NuWave “Mini” oven along with regular NuWave oven from Hearthware. The regular oven appears to be an excellent product. The “mini” is hazardous as the power head and clear dome that should lift as one will separate with the dome falling whenever the oven is warm. This happens every time. The problem does not occur when the unit is cold. I received (minor) burns several times due to attempts to catch the falling dome. The oven itself works well.
An email asking for a solution went unanswered by the customer service department. In a phone call to the company today I was told this was a known issue with no resolution other than to let the oven cool (with the food still inside) or try and pick up the dome and power head with kitchen mitts. According to the CSR this defect has been reported many times by customers.
The oven is still offered for sale by the company. I am concerned other consumers might receive more significant physical burns if unaware of this defect - especially the elderly.

The product, in the report: Oven
The consumer says the dome keeps cracking. If not careful the dome separate from the heating element causing a burn hazard. He has had the dome replaced twice due to cracking.
The consumer called the manufacturer who said they can replace the dome for $50 and state that the dome will not crack for at least 3 years.
The consumer says they are aware of the problem but do not seem to care. He says someone is going to get severely injured. The consumer says that all of their models are doing the same thing.

The product, in the report: The product is a self-contained oven designed to cook food while resting on a table or counter. More information can be found at: http://www.nuwaveoven.net
I was cooking six chicken breasts in my NuWave oven. When opening the lid to check on my food, hot steam escaped and burned my fingers. I was not using the product in an unintended manner. There are no warnings on the product to indicate that I should use gloves when removing the lid.
