The product, in the report: Euro- pro 4 slice stainless steel toaster oven, Model TO176

I was using my eoropro toaster oven when smoke began to fill the air. I shut it off and unplugged it immediately. Looking inside the toaster oven, I could see no source of the smoke. The smoke didn’t smell like food either. The next day I saw that the outside of the door handle was burned. I provided 2 photos of the burned handle & one photo of the label but am not sure if I labeled them correctly since there is no thumbnail. I have saved the toaster oven if you want to exam it.

I was toasting some croissants in a toaster ove, when suddenly and without any warning, it seemed to explode. The glass blew out, the handle came towards me, and it sounded like an EXPLOSION. I was startled and fell hitting my forehead, breaking my left wrist, and seperating my right shoulder. I bruised my hip.I was disoriented and on the floor. It took over four hours for someone to help me. Now I am in hospice. I was independent but I now require fulltime care. My personality has changed and I have a hard time speakinhg

The product, in the report: Toaster oven, small, 15” x10”

The toaster oven was on “Toast” for a few minutes with bagels in it when the glass door exploded outward in tiny pieces, including the frame and handle. The hot glass flew into every corner, hitting but not cutting my husband. We bought the Euro-Pro T0156 toaster oven from Walmart several years ago and use it several times per week on average. It has never been dropped and did not have any damage that we could see. It was not dirty or over heated. It was approximately 6AM on Sunday, November 17, 2013 and the temperature in the room was about 75 degrees.

The product, in the report: Euro-Pro Toaster Oven

This incident occurred while I was toasting a bagel in a “Euro-Pro Toaster Over” Model TO1612. This toaster over was bought at the Sears Grand store at the Pittsburgh Mills on May 11, 2011.

I noticed some light blue-white smoke coming out from behind the upper (temperature control) knob. Seeing this I quickly remove the plug and the smoke stopped. Thinking the something may have gotten into the area behind the knobs, I removed the outer metal cover from the toaster over to see if the area needed to be cleaned. However, the area behind the control knobs was clean.

Next I decided to find out what would happen if I turned the toaster over back on. I took it outside to the concrete patio and plugged it in again without changing any settings of the three control knobs. Within a minute or so the backside on the middle control (function: keep warm; broil; bake; toast; grill) burst into flames. I removed the plug and the flames went out.

From what I have observed, this toaster over could have caused a fire if I had not been near-by when the first smoke appeared. I do have a smoke detector in the area so I think I would have eventually been alerted to the problem, but, significant damage may have occurred to my kitchen first.

I have taken some pictures of the toaster over and I will hold onto the over and the pictures just in case you would want me to send them to you for further investigation.

    Thank you for your attention,

The product, in the report: Euro Pro T0161 Toaster Oven Timer does not shut off and goes past zero to turn the oven “on” in the manual setting. The consumer has just turned it off and it comes on automatically. This is a very serious fire hazard

    Euro Pro T0161 Toaster Oven

The timer will not shut off. It runs past zero until it gets to the Manual “on” setting and then automatically turns the Toaster Oven on. The consumer has turned the oven “off” but as a result of this timer defect, the toaster oven comes on and stays on.

This is a very serious fire hazard. The toaster oven gets hot on the outside when it is on and anything left in contact with the oven has the potential to catch on fire.

This item needs to be recalled. I have spoken with the company and they seem unconcerned!!
