  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 9, 2015, sent to the company Jul 17, 2015, published by CPSC Jul 31, 2015

The product, in the report: Countertop Emerson Toaster oven (Model TOR59)

We had a freak accident with an Emerson toaster oven (Model TOR59). We own a red Emerson toaster oven. Last week it was sitting on the kitchen counter (wasn’t being used, and hadn’t been used at all that day) and the glass shattered and fell all over the counter and the kitchen floor. There was nothing around it to suggest what may have caused it. Fortunately nobody was in the kitchen at the time and didn’t get hurt. Please see the pictures for more details. this product is definitely not safe for use. I hope you will take some action.

The product, in the report: Toatser Oven. Polished metal case. Black front. Glass front. 3 dials.

Unit quit working. When I opened to see if there was an internal fuse (there isn’t), I found that the wire nut which splices 4 returns had completely melted and caught fire.
