The product, in the report: Classic Concepts Brand OV-201 & OV2002 Toaster Oven My model was the OV-2002
I had been using this toaster oven for approximately 10 months. The main thing I did not like about it was that it only had a 15 minute timer, but that is beside the point.(it was not stated on the box). Due to this short timer issue, when baking potatoes (to save energy) I would have to restart the timer a few times until they were done. However, on 2/20/2018 I put some dry Chinese noodles in a glass {REDACTED] pan and set the oven for 15 minutes to heat them up. Within 10 minutes I heard my smoke alarm go off in my kitchen and discovered the toaster oven was smoking and the flames shot out. We managed to get the flames out by unplugging it, however, I feel this is a very unsafe small appliance. The manufacturer’s website does not have contact information so I felt the need to report it to the Consumer government agency.
