Hurt, care not known Made Aug 16, 2012, sent to the company Sep 25, 2012, published by CPSC Oct 10, 2012
The product, in the report: 5 speed Blender
(8/14/2012) The consumer stated that he was blending a shake in the blender for approximately 15 to 20 seconds. He heard a loud noise and figured it was the ice breaking up inside. The consumer stopped the blender and proceeded to pour his drink. After drinking from the glass he felt something unusual going down his throat. He immediately checked the blender and noticed that the middle of the blender had fallen off and was mixed in with his drink.
CONSUMER ADDED: I experienced the gritty pieces of plastic scratching as it passed thru my body (was very unnerving wondering if it would cut up my intestines). I would not like anyone else to to through this experience.
The consumer contacted the Poison Control and they advised him that he would need to take a laxative and watch his stool to make sure there was no blood. The consumer did as instructed.
The manufacturer was not contacted as yet.
