The product, in the report: Upright Stand Blender
This is a Kalorik Model BL-16909 Blender. It was purchased new in May 2012, and has been used infrequently. Lately I have been using the blender, about 3-4 times per week to make smoothies which requires crushing @ 5-6 ice cubes first, before blending in the other frozen and fresh ingredients.
Yesterday, I was fortunate in that I looked into the glass blender jar to inspect the ice. Inside the ice were several pieced of black material. Upon closer inspection, what had happened was a black plastic washer that keeps the three metal blades separated, braking off from the cutter blade assembly. There were three to four pieces.
Had I not noticed this, and added the other ingredients I might have swallowed the washer pieces.
Although I don’t think this rises to a choking hazard, it certainly is not something I want to ingest.
