The product, in the report: Baby Brezza Formula Pro
To whom it may concern, I purchased the baby brezza formula pro dispenser to verify that my newborn was receiving appropriate formula amounts and the correct temperature. I feel the absolute need to warn parents against this product. I was making a bottle for my son utilizing this machine and noticed the disturbing occurrence that the bottle was extremely pale as if not enough formula was in it. My feeling was correct. The machine had appropriate water in the container, correct formula in the dispenser, all parts in their correct places but still what happened is dangerous. Upon noticing the pale bottle I pulled the removable dispenser out (prior to the clean dispenser notification) and to my horror multiple clumps of formula were in it and of course not in my newborns bottle one even blocking the flow of water. A handmade and not machine made bottle WOULD NOT have had this happen. I believe that this isn’t the only time that this machine has incorrectly dispensed formula only the first time I caught it happening. Stay away from this machine, it’s dangerous to your babies health and could’ve led to severe malnutrition without even knowing why.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Feb 28, 2023, sent to the company Mar 3, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 17, 2023
The product, in the report: Brezza
I gave birth to my son on [REDACTED]. His birth weight was 9.1lbs. We came home from the hospital a few days later on Sunday 2/12/2023. The days between birth and going home, I breastfed my son. On Sunday 2/12/2023, the day we arrived home, I began using the Brezza to formula feed every 2-3 hours in tandem with breast feeding and pumping. We began exclusively using the Brezza on Sunday 2/19/2023 and stopped breastfeeding. While using the Brezza, my son’s weight either decreased or was slow to regain to his original birth weight each time we measured his weight. On Friday 2/24/2023, our pediatrician advised us to manually scoop the formula and increase the formula amount (increase the ratio of formula to water). That day, we measured out the dosage the Brezza was dispensing and learned it was less than half of the amount of powder recommended on the back of the formula package. After manually measuring and increasing the powder amount, he gained over 8oz in 48 hours putting him back on track to regain his original birth weight.
Pediatrician visits: Monday 2/13/23 = 8.24lbs * First visit (routine wellness) Wednesday 2/15/23 = 8.13lbs Weight check Friday 2/17/23 = 8.22lbs Weight check Friday 2/24/23 = 8.24lbs *2 Week visit (routine wellness) stopped Brezza, began manually scooping formula Monday 2/27/23 = 8.78lbs Weight check
The injuries that happened are to be determined. At the 2 week check up, my son was supposed to regain all the weight lost and return to his original birth weight. Because of the Brezza dosage error, he did not. During the time we were using the Brezza, he slept poorly, and had unrest during his wake hours.

Baby brezza formula pro
My baby is now 2 weeks old. I have been religious about cleaning the funnel. Making sure the tank stays clean. Keeping the formula filled. There were a few times where the formula looked watery. I’d check the funnel and there would be minimal build up but I’d clean it anyway.
Well I cleaned it about two bottle ago and to my surprise I just got a 2oz bottle of just pure water. Huh. Thats odd.
I pulled out the funnel and it was clean. So then I took a look underneath and to my shock the formula contained had.a massive plug of formula paste blocking the exit. It leads me to wonder how many under concentrated bottles my baby has had. All those bottles that appeared watered down were apparently truly under concentrated.
I’m a physician. I don’t need to explain to your company the gravity of what poorly concentrated formula can do on a newborn. We saw multiple people in my ED who watered down formula during the shortage that led to seizures.
I will not be using the product anymore but it needs to be recalled. The only instructions were for daily cleaning of the funnel. Not the formula container.
