The product, in the report: Back To Basics Blender Express electric blender which allows blender jar to be used as a cup.
I used the Back To Basics Blender Express to puree some hot vegetable soup (I cook the soup then puree for a thick consistency). The blender design allows the blender jar to be used as a cup, so when you screw the jar onto the base, there is no place for air to escape. I ran the blender for a short period (10-15 seconds) to puree the softened vegetables . When I tried to unscrew the jar from the base, it was very difficult to unscrew. When I finally got it loose, it felt like a lot of pressure was released. I believe pressure builds up when the contents are blended, and there is no way for the pressure to be released. There was no injury involved, but I am afraid to use it again. Here is a picture of the blender:

It may be worth mentioning that I was at a high elevation (7000 feet).
**I JUST READ THE MANUAL ON-LINE and it cautions to not use to blend hot liquids, but it does list soup as something you can blend. It should say on the jar to not use it for hot liquid.
