The product, in the report: Baby Bullet
I received the baby bullet in July 2012 as a shower gift. My son just started eating foods, so I used the product for the first time this past week. The second time I used it, the rubber gasket snapped. I found the shredded rubber in his food. He almost ate it but thank goodness I saw it it time. It was approximately one inch in length and he could have choked on it if I did not see it.

The product, in the report: The Baby Bullet food maker. The seal from the baby blend blade.
I was using the Baby Bullet blender to make my daughter some food and the seal was chopped up by the blade. While I was feeding her I noticed some chunks of something and then realized it was small pieces of plastic chopped up in her food. The plastic is clear and very difficult to see. I am very lucky that she did not eat any of these pieces or choke on them. I had checked the product before using it but the seal must have come loose while I was preparing her food. I like this product but I would not want a child to die because this happened to them.

The product, in the report: Baby Bullet electric Blender
Caller had problems with blender used to make baby food. The gasket that is inside the blade piece at bottom of the blender releases while blending and the plastic from gasket is released into the baby food and could result in a user accidently feeding her/his child silicone. She states that she noticed the problem but some may not. She contacted manufacturer 06/05/2012 and was advised by representative (she doesn’t have name), she was given reference # [REDACTED] but was advised that the silicone is not toxic and that it is not a choking hazard because pieces are so tiny. Caller states that this product is recalled in Canada on recall# 2011-168 but not in the USA. A permanent gasket mounted into the blade operatus is available in the U.S.A. and caller is receiving this permanent gasket piece but only because she lodged a complaint. Caller is requesting that this product be recalled also in the U.S.A. before a baby is injured.

The product, in the report: Blender for baby food.
The plastic gasket in the bottom of my Baby Bullet detached and got chopped up and pureed in the baby food. I ended up feeding the baby 4 jars of it before I noticed a big plastic piece in it and went to investigate. Sure enough the plastic gasket was all caught up around the blade and pieces were missing which were chopped up in the food I fed him. I’ve been using the product for about 2 months with no issues. I read all instructions before use and have been following all of the correct cleaning guidelines. I did not notice that the gasket was loose before using it. When I looked online it seems hundreds of people have had this happen to them as well. This is a HUGE safety issue and I’m really upset that my baby has been eating plastic pieces. I’m just lucky he didn’t choke on anything and hopefully this plastic will all pass through with no issues.

Hurt, no treatment Made Feb 8, 2012, sent to the company Jun 22, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 9, 2012
The product, in the report: food processor marketed for babies and toddlers
We blended cooked food and water in the “baby bullet” food processor. While feeding our 13-month old son, we noticed he was having difficulty chewing. He finally let us look into his mouth and we noticed a piece of rubber that was approximately an inch long. (It was the gasket to the food processor that sits at the base below the threading where the cup screws into the blade.) We matched that piece with the remaining gasket that had broken and found that there is still a one-inch piece missing. The remaining gasket was still firmly seated in the bottom of the base. We believe the missing piece was swallowed by our child. Fortunately, he did not choke on it necessitating an ambulance to help in a lethal situation. Our pediatrician indicated that since this material is plastic, it will not appear on an x-ray. We can only watch our son and wait to see if he has any side effects or if the piece will pass through his intestines.
Before using the processor, I had removed the gasket to clean it since food was trapped underneath it. Replacement gaskets were included with the box. Again to reiiterate, I firmly inserted the gasket back into the bottom after washing it.
The “baby bullet user manual and cookbook” indicates to inspect the gasket before using. It does not instruct on whether or not the gasket needs to be replaced at set intervals nor does it give instructions on how to replace it. This would be helpful information since food does get trapped below it regularly causing bacteria to build if not removed and washed.
This product needs to be taken out of distribution immediately. This information needs to be reported to the news agencies.
Please respond to us as soon as possible.
Thanks
